An orofacial myofunctional disorder (OMD) is defined by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association as abnormal movements patterns or resting postures of the face and mouth.

As a member of the International Association of Orofacial Myology, we will work closely with your dentist, orthodontist, ENT and primary care doctor utilizing our knowledge to help you or your child overcome irregular movement patterns and postures to increase function and comfort.

Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders May Include One or More of the Following:

Speech Sound Errors
Open Mouth Resting Posture
Drooling
Thumb or Finger Sucking
Mouth Breathing
Difficulty Chewing and/or Swallowing
Interdental Tongue Resting Posture
Teeth Clenching or Grinding
Crumbs and Residue in Mouth After the Swallow
"Tongue Tie"
"Lip Tie"
Sleep Disordered Breathing
